Join the CHGS for a discussion and celebration of Dr. Regina Kazyulina’s new book. During World War II, Nazi forces occupied large parts of the Soviet Union. In response to devastating losses, Stalin first permitted and then encouraged women to join the Red Army and the resistance. Simultaneously, female civilians on occupied territory found themselves in an untenable position: they could resist the occupiers and face the possibly fatal consequences or engage in sexual barter, with all the risk, shame, and disapprobation that entailed. 

Dr. Kazyulina will discuss her research and writing process, joined by CHGS Director Dr. Chris Mauriello. The event will include a moderated discussion and a Q&A session with the audience. Refreshments will be served.

Regina Kazyulina is the Assistant Director of the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies and a visiting associate professor at ´ºÃÎÖ±²¥. 

This event is free and open to the public. It will take place in person and will also be livestreamed on zoom. Registration is required.
